Easy HTML Construction Kit includes six separate tools to assist in HTML coding. It has a versatile interactive TABLE maker which allows creation of table cells larger than 1x1 (by handling ROWSPAN and COLSPAN specifications). It also provides an easy way to convert data in text files to lists, tables and full HTML documents, so if you have a document in plaintext form then you can easily convert it to HTML.

To use Easy HTML Construction Kit to assist in the writing of web pages you need only a basic knowledge of HTML. You should be able to do simple editing, such as knowing how to use <br> and <p> tags, and you should be able to recognize the start and end of HTML code for lists (<ul>...</ul>, <ol>...</ol>) and tables (<table>...</table>), but you don't need to know much more. If you can already do basic HTML programming then Easy HTML Construction Kit will allow you to do it better and much more quickly, and will allow construction of tables too tricky to do by hand coding (such as the table above).
The HTML code produced by Easy HTML Construction Kit conforms to the HTML 3.2 standard, which is supported by all web browsers. No use is made of javascript. A limited use is made of the style parameter in the table tag to support generation of code for tables with colored borders and dashed, etc., borders. Thus the HTML code produced works with all web browsers and the program produces HTML code for lists and tables which look very similar on all browsers.
The six HTML tools are described below. Follow the links for explanations and examples of use (the examples can be studied hands-on by downloading the demo version).
- HTML Template
This creates a new HTML document.
- Text to HTML
This automates most of the tasks involved in converting a text file to a
decent-looking HTML document.
- Code to HTML
This automates most of the tasks involved in converting a text file containing program source code (e.g. C code or HTML) to a decent-looking HTML document.
- Data to List
This is for converting items in a text file to a HTML list of those items. It can also be used to create the HTML for blank lists.
- Data to Table
This is for converting lines of data (separated by commas, spaces, etc.) in a text file to a HTML table whose cells contain that data. In other words, it is for table-izing data in a text file.
- Table Creator
This creates the HTML code for a table of a specified number of rows and a specified number of columns, with the possibility of specifying multiple cells larger than 1 row by 1 column. Text may be entered into the cells of the table (within the program), and colors, fonts and font sizes can be set for each cell or for the whole table. Cells can be copied to other cells (or whole rows or columns) thus reducing the time required for creating tables.
