Since I operate a large website with thousands of German pages I needed software that was capable of generating keyword meta tags for German text quickly and efficiently. While there are many programs which can do this job with English pages Keywords Meta Tag Generator from Hermetic Systems was the only one I tested which worked like a charm for foreign languages.
Especially the following features are very useful for me:
- Handles foreign characters perfectly (it doesn't matter whether the web page contains them as plain text or encoded as html entities).
- Common words are contained in a separate text file for easy editing (and German common words are already included with the software).
- Keyword weight can be given for title, description meta tag, already existing keyword meta tag, bold and italic words and words contained in tables, div and span tags.
- Keeping of upper/lower case of keywords is possible.
- One can choose whether spaces should be inserted after the commas of the keyword meta tag.I also want to mention the perfect support you can expect from Hermetic Systems. I use a lot of shareware and sadly enough have to say that most authors first say that they will include requested features in their software and then never do it. With Hermetic systems it only took about two weeks for a feature I requested to be added to the Keywords Meta Tag Generator and even the first version handling German text was done in only about a month after I ordered my copy of the program.
Keywords Meta Tag Generator simply is a must-have for anyone building keyword meta tags for German web pages and I am very happy that I found this useful utility.

I've used and tested about a dozen "keyword meta tag generators" but this one takes the cake. The install was smooth and it doesn't take much resources. I thought I would let you know more about how I use your great little program, and that is to help write up the description meta tag. First I create the keywords tag, and then by scanning the words in that, create a sentence — that makes sense! — to put in as a description tag. Quickest way I've found to generate keyword Meta Tags. Instead of building my own program that occasionally had to be tweaked manually, this works right out of the box (web download). You can also change the weight of words and include default keywords. — MJSG LLC, July 21, 2010
